Welcome to the Black Swan Inn

The Black Swan is a traditional 17th Century Cumbrian Inn set in the heart of the Eden Valley, offering beautiful en-suite accommodation, fantastic food and great wines.

Our ideal location between the ancient market towns of Penrith & Appleby-in-Westmorland, makes visiting all destinations in Cumbria, the Lake District National Park and the Historic City of Carlisle a must. If you are looking for a good restaurant near Penrith, Whinfell Forest Center Parcs, breaking a journey or travelling the iconic Coast-2-Coast route there is nowhere better to kick back in front of our roaring fire and relax with a local ale or stunning wine from our selection

Why not try a spot of fishing on our private 2.5 mile stretch of the River Eden, which is within a stone's throw from the Black Swan.

Dog Policy

Accommodation - Strictly no dogs permitted in guests bedrooms

Bar &  Restaurant - We do not allow dogs in the eating areas of the Black Swan, however, they are welcome in our beer garden when kept on a lead.
